Back again!

Date: 11/01/2010
Graz, Austria

After 11,000km, 11 countries and 9 months on the road I am back in Austria and 100% fit after recovering from dengue fever. I want to thank everybody who supported me on the road. I particularly want to thank Horst Köpfelsberger, Susi Schiendorfer and Wally Maderegger, who helped me keep my website up to date. I also want to say thank you to the bike partners I met on the road and all the people who supported me every single day on the adventure of my life!

Moreover, I would like to thank everybody who allowed me to support an awesome project in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka and I can assure you that the money is used for a wonderful purpose! However, this project is not over yet - I will keep you up to date and will try to support this orphanage in the future.

I thank you all for everything!

My mission is finished but our mission has started now! The money we were collecting was the small help for 2010, but now it is our time to collect money for the year 2011. Everybody can think how he is able to collect some money! Some can try to send things here. Like some of you will provide the kids with Tennis rackets and I am sure that the kids will love them! So now our mission starts ;-)

Update Xmas in Batticaloa

After 4 days of high fever, not moving, just beeing in bed and resting, I was waking up on the 24th believing it is the 23rd. Somehow I must have lost one day in this stadium of high fever. So in the believe that it is the 23rd I told the uncle and boss of the childrenshome that I want to go to the hospital to check my blood. I was really afraid that this fever is something serious. So as taking me to a private hospital which should be very good. When I arrived there I found out that it is the 24th and I was really sad as they wanted me to keep in the hospital at least for one night! I was really sad as I wanted to celebrate christmas with the children. But anyway, so I got my room. You cannot imagine how it looked like. There was a ventilator but it did not function, TV was there but was destroyed, in my room that was blue painted there were all over on the walls braun liquid, I don't know if it was shit, or vomit. When I entered the toiled 100 of mosquitos was welcoming me so that I decided to pi in the hand basin in my room. Then I got two senseless infusions, one salt and one sugar. Nobody knows why but I heard from some people that the only thing they can do in hospitals is it to give infusions. After some hours I got some medcine and my blood report. Everything seems to be alright! It seems to be a viral fever and there is nothing to do just to wait and take pain killers. When I heard that I asked them if I could leave and they immediatly said yes. So after 8 hours in the hospital I was able to leave and I wanted to surprise the kids who thought that I am in the hospital, but on the way home all the kids were on the way to visit me in the hospital and we met on half the way. Finally I could celebrate Christmas with them. In the morning I did not believe that this would have been possible! For me it is like a big Christmas Miracle!

Yesterday: In the morning I was coming to the childrenshome. It was raining like hell, outside and in some places also inside. But although the facilities are really not perfect this kids are wonderful! They know how to laugh, they know how to be self confident, they are clever and willing to learn. And the best they... are teached to give! I am impressed and ashame when I see this children giving!

Batticaloa My mission is complete! I found the place that we all should support! It is a place of love, a childrenshome that is not glowing by having the nicest equipment, but with children that are teached with love! It is embarassing to see this children how they are willing to give their last T-shirt. I am so happy that I have found a place like this! Stefan

Update Batticaloa

Date: 14/12/2009
Batticaloa, Sri Lanka

I am now in Batticaloa in an area where the last years Tsunami and war with the Tamils "Tigers" destroyed the whole area and there is still a long way to go that the wounds are healing! I am here in an orphonage and I am working and playing with the children. So everybody that trusts me on my way and my f...inal mission can contribute by giving just a small amount of money and you know that all of you that contributed will be invited at a long evening where I speak about my long way and my adventure of my life!

This time short before Christmas use it to think about our neighbours and think about the sentence Mother Teresa was saying -

»We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.«

Everybody that is interested in it - watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH7lz9wcHHs
